John James Audubon Center Wedding - Melissa & Sam

For someone who loves details as much as I do, executing all of the intricate design work and planning for Melissa and Sam's wedding day was a dream come true. Melissa is an extremely talented hand-letterer, illustrator, and graphic designer all wrapped up into one pretty package! She is currently the Art Director at Wonderful Machine and spends some of her free time creating wedding invitations and custom logos (like mine!), so I knew the details for her own wedding would be nothing short of incredible. Melissa and I share a love for gold and everything floral, so I had been anticipating Melissa & Sam's wedding for a LONG time.  From the engagement ring design to each hand-lettered sign, Melissa didn't miss a beat!

What made Melissa and Sam's wedding even more beautiful was the sweet relationship that the two of them share, captured so beautifully by Pat Furey Photo! Both Melissa and Sam also come from such loving and close families which made sharing this day with them such an honor for me!

Combining these elements with an all-star team of vendors truly made Melissa & Sam's wedding so special! A huge thank you to all of the talented professionals who contributed to this beautiful day:

I still can't get over how perfectly Kate Farley Design styled these bouquets and boutonnieres!

The reception at John James Audubon Center was magical. The venue was the perfect setting for such a natural, floral wedding!

If you haven't noticed at this point that the wine bottle table numbers are the same hand painted watercolor design as the ceremony programs, invitation envelope liners, and EVEN the paper that Sam used for Melissa's wedding day note, scroll back up! I love the cohesiveness of these details!

Congratulations again, Melissa & Sam! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together!

Favorite Summer Pins and Trends!

If you're anything like me, you spend way too much time on Pinterest. Lately I've been so inspired by all of the fun ideas I've been seeing, so I decided to blog a few of my favorite summer DIYs and trends below! The best part is, you can dress these ideas up for a summer wedding or just use them for a casual dinner party at home.

1. Dip Dyed Linen Placemats - Check out Design Love Fest's super easy tutorial to create these yourself (mostly with ingredients you already have at home!)

2. Hand-Lettered Beverage Containers- Not a calligrapher? That's okay! Style Me Pretty includes free printables for you to tape inside the empty containers and trace over with a paint marker. Click here to download and learn how!

3. Edison Lights- When hosting an outdoor party, lighting can make ALL the difference. And somehow, now that it's on a string, the lightbulb is the "newest" trend in lighting. How cool does this look? Check out Crate and Barrel to own these.

4. Edible Flower Popsicles - Definitely follow the recipe on this one so that you know for sure which flowers are okay to use, but have you ever seen a prettier dessert that makes itself while you sleep? Full recipe and instructions on Chew Town.

5. BHLDN Colorblock Fork Set - Perfect for a fancy BBQ and SO much cuter than plastic utensils with the same easy clean up. Head on over to BHLDN to get these while they're on sale!

Happy crafting! Follow Laurel and Elm on Pinterest for more of my favorites!

Philadelphia Fiesta Themed Bridal Shower

Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing some photos of a fiesta themed bridal shower I put together for a bride who loves tacos almost as much as I do! Also, I think I'm becoming Minted's biggest fan! Everything I've ordered from them is beautiful and arrives so quickly! Check out their gold foil invitations:

The room was decorated with cacti which made for really great centerpieces for guests to take home because they last forever!

These hot sauce favors were super easy to make! Kristi's fiance's name is Tom so the hot "tom"ale sauce was a huge hit!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Talented Clients

You know what is a wedding planner's dream come true? I'll tell you—it's having a bride who is a skilled graphic designer and specializes in hand lettering. I am a paper lover and I truly appreciate all of the work and customization that goes into wedding stationeryprobably more than mostso I don't mean to downplay any bit of the excitement when I say that these are JUST Melissa & Sam's save the dates. Has anyone ever received such a beautiful package for a save the date before? All of the photography is from their engagement session with Pat Furey Photography and all of the design and layout was done by the talented Melissa Ginsiorsky (soon-to-be-Yeager)!

As Melissa said, "What says love and unity better than a solid ligature?" I can barely wait to show everyone Melissa & Sam's wedding invitations and day-of details! Stay tuned for more from this talented bride!
